Parchment paper: 8″ easy-lift square sheet


1 cup (250 ml) all-purpose flour

2 cups (500 ml) sugar

¾ cup (190 ml) cocoa powder

1 tsp. (5 ml) baking powder

½ tsp. (2.5 ml) salt

½ cup (125 ml) chopped nuts

⅔ cup (160 ml) vegetable oil

4 large eggs, lightly beaten

2 tsp. (10 ml) vanilla extract


Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

Line an 8" (20cm) square baking pan with Kana parchment paper.

In a bowl, combine the first six ingredients.

In another bowl, combine oil, eggs, and vanilla and add to dry ingredients.

Do not overmix.

Spread batter in the baking pan. Bake 30 to 35 minutes.

Let cool on a rack for a few minutes before serving.
