Equipment: Pre-Cut Parchment Paper
Ingredients
1 280g block of extra firm tofu
1 cup of panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup of white sesame seeds
1/2 cup of black sesame seeds
1/2 cup of cornflour
1/2 cup of dark soy sauce
Preparation
Preheat your oven to 375ºF (190ºC).
Remove the tofu from packaging and wrap in a few layers of paper towel. Press tofu to squeeze as much of the moisture out as possible. Be careful not to crush or crumble the tofu!
Slice the brick of tofu into rectangles, and then diagonally into triangles.
Prepare three shallow bowls, one with the cornflour, one with the soya sauce and one with the panko and sesame seeds combined. Prepare a large baking tray with a sheet of Kana pre-cut parchment paper.
Using one hand (keeping the other hand clean) dip each tofu triangle one at a time, into the cornflour, then the soya sauce and finally the panko. Place each triangle on the parchment paper. Once you’ve coated all of the tofu pieces, place the tray in the oven and cook for approximately 14 minutes, flipping each piece halfway through.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Enjoy your crispy tofu with sautéed green veggies and some steamy rice!
